The U.S. Small Business Administration defines small businesses as entities with less than 500 employees.  According to 2007 U.S. Census Data, the number of small businesses was 27,739,365 and the total receipts from small businesses was $12,371,872,247,000, or an average of $446,004.  One percent of the average small business revenue ($4,460) times one percent of small businesses (277,394) equals $1,237,177,240.
